WHAT'S HAPPENING AT MPS?
2009 SWAZI DANCE AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Matjana Preschool is currently organising its third annual dance and cultural festival, an event which will raise funds for the preschool and provide an opportunity for foreigners to watch traditional Swazi dances, performed by members of the Kaphunga community. On July 11th this year, we’ll invite travellers, ex-patriots and local Swazis to Kaphunga, to witness a spectacular display of Swazi dancing, singing and competitions (e.g. eating apple from a string, three legged races). Adults and children from the area will provide the entertainment. Visitors will pay to attend the festival, and all money collected will go to the preschool. For more information see the Swazi Dance and Cultural Festival page. If you'd like to check out some photos of previous events, to see what we've got in store for you, see the Community Based Fundraising page.
The day promises to be loads of fun, but in the meantime there’s plenty of work to be done organising and advertising the day. If you can help use advertise the event (that’s you all the backpacker and guest house owner!), why not download and print (and display prominently) the poster? Or send an email and we’ll send leaflets for you to distribute.
